Dorset for holidays UK. Visit Dorset where Dorset is approximately 50 miles wide and 40 miles tall and borders Devon Wiltshire & Somerset. The population of Dorset is unusually low for the UK. Visit the southern Dorset oak forests were devastated by fire and tools by these settlers and the chalk hills, which later became burial mounds, were the perfect defence for the settlers. Romans occupied Dorset and laid roads from Dorchester out into the rest of Dorset areas. Visit the parishes of Dorset which have remained largely unchanged since the Domesday Book.
