The funeral service for Laurence of Arabia took place at the church in Moreton Dorset, St Nicholas Church Moreton Dorset in the afternoon of 21st May 1935
I visited this tiny church in south Dorset on a hot sunny day. There were 6 other people looking around as I entered to take photos of the inside of the church.
At Laurence of Arabia's graveside, the graveyard was empty.
St Nicholas Church Moreton Dorset is a very unusual little church. It even has a circular gravestone in the grounds of the church.
The windows around the church are not the usual stained glass windows, but rather clear glass windows with very unusual designs.
Replacing the usual stained glass window designs are designs of shining suns, a flower that looks very similar to a Jewish Manorah, very modern looking crosses and a scene of lightning striking that with the trees reflecting in the background gave a very eerie image of a face gazing out of the window!
